Make way for the return of Madea in "Madea's Big Happy Family"

Madea is back and the Theater at Madison Square Garden was more than ready to see her!

Tyler Perry brought back the musical play "Madea's Big Happy Family." The play was showcased on a high-tech set that revolved around the stage to create the different scenes for the cast.

The play centers around a woman named Shirley, who's had a six-year battle with cancer finds out the disease is back. If being her final days isn't enough on her mind, her families life is in disarray. Shirley calls upon Madea to bring her family together to brace them with accepting her inevitable death.

The family needs help badly. There's manless mommy's girl Joyce; the wannabe street thug for his gold digger girlfriend Byron; angry booshie real estate agent Kimberly, husband abusing Tami; and the 17 year old 6th grader Donnie.

While Shirley is trying to get the family together so she can break her news, drama arises that threatens to shake up everything for the family.

The play is the perfect mix of acting, singing, and Madea (yes she's a category of her own). Madea is this larger than life character that says and does anything she wants. I mean really who could stop her? The funniest part is when Perry breaks character and starts speaking directly to the audience. He does this often. He calls out the latecomers, ad libs current events ("Pants on the ground" made it in) and don't even dare try and take picture/video with your phone, he will see you. At the show I attended someone tried and use their iphone and Perry said, "You better put away that iphone before it becomes my phone." So, make sure you get to the show on time and keep your phone in your pocket and you're in for a good time!

Everyone in the cast can sing (and I mean REALLY SING) and you really get to hear it because everyone gets a solo (even Perry). Besides Perry, other recognizable cast members includes Cassi Davis (from Perry's "House of Payne") and singer Cheryl 'Pepsii' Riley.

The play turns into a party at the end with a sing-a-long of R&B tunes which covered everyone from Earth, Wind and Fire to Luther Vandross. It's safe to say Madea is back and better than ever!

Wii Review: Vacation Isle: Beach Party

Get ready to compete with up to four players in eight games that’ll make you feel like you’re on a beach vacation!

Vacation Isle: Beach Party features vacation-style party games for the whole family. This beach party has events on both land and sea. Events including Slalom Skiing, Wake Boarding, Surfing, Stand Up Paddling, Ski Jump, Stunt Park, Hula and Fire Dancing. You can engage in the activities using either the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or optional Wii Balance Board.

Along the way, you will collect hundreds of Sand Dollars that can be used to purchase a variety of sports equipment and beach gear from the Surf Shack to personalize your avatar. While it's great to get new beach clothing and equipment, I would have liked for the new sporting equipment to affect the actual gameplay. Buying a new ski or wakeboard doesn't upgrade your gameplay, it just matches the new top or shorts you just bought.

Vacation Isle: Beach Party delivers three difficulty settings (easy, medium and hard) for each of it's eight course options. The eight courses are unlocked from the beginning of the game. It would have been nice if you could unlock courses or even unlock the harder difficulty settings. Like when you pass easy you could unlock medium and when you pass medium you unlock hard. Just wish the game had more to achieve than just useless boards and new outfits.

I do love the gameplay using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk but through the use of the Wii Balance Board your experience is enhanced. The Wii Balance Board allows you to jump, shake, balance and spin your way to a win. My favorites include Surfing, Wakeboarding, Stunt Park and Hula Dancing. Using the Wii Balance Board during the Surfing, Wakeboarding and Stunt Park events allow you to pull off really cool stunts and during the Hula Dancing you can shake your hips just like a real Hula Dancer.

Now all ages can surf, water ski and enjoy several activities of an exotic summer vacation in their own home. So get ready to take your family and friends to a virtual island paradise that is full of fun in the sun!

Xbox 360 Review: Shrek Forever After

This Far, Far Away game is sure to bring the family closer!

Shrek Forever After closely follows the plot of the film of the same title. You follow green antihero Shrek as he hits a point in his life where he wants to be an fearsome Orge again. When Shrek receives an offer he can’t refuse from Rumpelstiltskin he finds himself living in an alternate universe in which he losses his best friends, children and Fiona. Shrek is faced with reinstating his ‘True Love’s Kiss’ within 24 hours or everything in Far, Far Away will be ruined forever. Being that Fiona is now an independent freedom fighter and has given up on ever finding her prince, Shrek really has a task on his hands to try and win her over.

The game starts off with the tutorial level. The tutorial is hosted by one of the Three Little Pigs. He gets you up to speed with all the controls, characters and their various abilities, plus all the ways they can interact with each other. He will pop-up from time to time within the game to offer clues and hints. As the game goes on the pacing increases but throughout the game you are still given helpful character hints near items so you know which character to use. During harder puzzles the 3 Blind Mice show up to offer guidance to players (at a cost of course).

You can seamlessly switch between any of the four playable characters using different methods and each of the characters have their own unique abilities and powers.

Donkey has head butting attacks and the ability to sing off key. He also has powerful kicks to help in solving puzzles.

Puss In Boots uses his sword and his cuteness ability on opponents. He uses his claws to climb and his unique jumping ability to access out of the way areas.

Fiona has powerful sword attacks and she uses a bullhorn as a rallying cry. Also has the ability to light explosives with her lantern to open secret areas.

Shrek uses his fists and a roar to frighten any enemy he encounters. Shrek uses his power of strength to move objects.

The characters and cinematics look great. The characters are bright and well animated and the framerate is solid (perfect for supporting four player coop). Although the actual actors from the big screen are not used, the stand-ins are comparable in their voiceovers. Gameplay music consists of two different instrumental scores; one for shrek's world before (a pleasant tune) and one for his new alternate world (a drab and creepy tune). The music played during fight sequences are a number of licensed tracks from Shrek movie soundtracks.

You get to explore wonderful levels like Shrek’s Swamp, the Dragon Keep (from the first movie), the Peasant Village, the Catacombs, the Docks, and Rumpelstiltskin Palace. There are several mini puzzles as well as larger puzzles and plenty of combat in-between. Each level is full of awesome enemies like witches, bats, rats, trees and pitchfork wielding humans. There are also special guest appearances by Gingerbread Man (Gingy), Pinocchio, pirates and more.

The game does start off slow but picks up pretty quickly. The challenge level picks up as well. Some of the later puzzles get very challenging. Younger players may become easily frustrated by some of them, thankfully you can turn to the Three Blind Mice for help. I'll even admit I had to enlist their services late in the game. I feel that is a good thing though meaning that the gameplay can keep both kids and adults entertained. While I enjoyed playing solo, coop play is truly the best way to play. Though multiplayer is offline-only, the 4-player local co-op is a great deal of fun. Solving some of the puzzles and taking on witches, evil trees, and possessed pumpkins is a blast with other people. With a right mixture of puzzles and kid-friendly combat, Shrek Forever After is the perfect game for some family fun in Far, Far Away.

Xbox 360 Review: Split/Second

Fast and fun arcade racer leaves others in the dust!

With so many arcade racing games on the market, it is hard to find out which one will fully satisfy your inner speed demon. Thanks to Disney Interactive and Black Rock Studio's Split/Second, you'll get a mash up of all the great racers in one petal pushing package.

In the game, you're a racer in a fictional reality television show called Split/Second. You play out the show's season which is divided up into twelve episodes. Each circuit is an episode of the television show and each episode is filled with multiple races. On this show the players earns points based on their finishing positions in each race. After earning enough points for each episode, you can unlock the Elite race for the episode. In addition, you can earn new vehicles and unlock a special race for causing a given number of cars to crash during races.

This all makes for a decent single-player career mode. Unlocking new cars gives you that needed boost to zoom past your opponents. I do prefer the option of choosing the car you want to unlock next like in many other racing games, but I guess this title is just keeping up it's streak of the element of surprise.

Differing even further from other racers, there are no real cars in the game. You also don't get in-depth car customization -- there are a limited number of colors to paint your car. Players do get decals that are automatically applied to the cars based on various achievements earned, but that's about it. What it lacks in not being able to customize in automotive parts, body decals, and what not, Split/Second makes up for in game play.

The title offers racers the chance to bring the environment into play, these are called "power plays." After filling your power play meter by performing drifts around corners or drafts from following your opponents closely, you are able to attack another racer. A mark appears over a car or cars in close proximity, hitting the A button causes buildings and other structures around the track to collapse. Now that's how you eliminate the competition!

It's like Mario Kart meets Death Race. In terms of gameplay speed, Burnout Paradise comes to mind. And, like Burnout Paradise, Split/Second goes into slow motion when cars collide with objects.

The game is not solely focused on the race to the finish line, but contains other game modes as well. There is "Detonator," which is a time-trials mode where hazards are triggered whenever you come close to something; "Survival," which is just you against yourself trying to stay alive and rack up points avoiding obstacles that are in your path; and my favorite, "Elimination." In Elimination, you have to avoid being in last place. There are different checkpoints, and the player who finds themselves in last once the clock hits zero is eliminated from the race. The last car standing is declared the winner.

If you finish the single-player modes, you can show off your skills in multiplayer. Multiplayer consists of a two local player split-screen or eight players online. Players can compete against one another in traditional racing, Survival, or Elimination. Finishing all or most of the Season Mode makes for a better online multiplayer experience as you'll have the necessary new (better) cars. Most online players are using the later unlocked cars so if you show up to the race using a "slower car" you are almost guaranteed to get left behind.

Split/Second really gives you the feeling of actually going speeds approaching 200 mph and weaving in and out through the other cars. Avoiding a bridge collapse or a crane swinging from side-to-side can really bring you to the edge of your seat. The visuals are great, each location looks better than the last. The sound is impressive, from the cars and explosions to the musical score. The unpredictability makes for enough game between single player Season Mode and multiplayer to last you for a while. So buckle in and get ready for the race of your life!

Medal of Honor returns this October

Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) has confirmed a release date for Medal of Honor. The highly-anticipated modern shooter will launch in North America on October 12th and in Europe on October 15th.

Medal of Honor leaves the WWII theatre for the first time in its 11-year history and enters the modern day setting of war-torn Afghanistan seen though the lens of a small band of fictional characters. As well, players will be introduced to the Tier 1 Operator, an elite warrior and relatively unknown instrument of the U.S. Military that operates under the National Command Authority.

EA has released a new trailer entitled “Leave A Message”. The trailer shows a U.S. Army Ranger platoon heading into combat aboard a helicopter. New Wii Systems to Include Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus

Starting May 9, Nintendo will add new elements to the Wii system package offered at retailers throughout the Americas. In addition to the motion-sensing Wii Remote controller, Nunchuk controller and popular Wii Sports game that currently comes standard with each system purchase, every new unit will now also come packaged with Wii Sports Resort and the control-enhancing Wii MotionPlus accessory.

Wii Sports Resort expands on the active-play fun of the original Wii Sports, with resort-themed activities such as wakeboarding, archery and swordplay. Toy Story 3: The Video Game to Feature Exclusive Content for PlayStation 3

Disney Interactive Studios has announced that Toy Story 3: The Video Game for the PlayStation 3, releasing on June 15, 2010, will exclusively feature content and gameplay available only on the PlayStation 3 system (PS3).

Emperor Zurg, one of the most beloved villains of the Disney•Pixar “Toy Story” franchise, will be a playable character exclusively on the PS3 system. In addition, Toy Story 3: The Video Game will be one of the first games to market featuring the PlayStation Move’s motion controller compatible gameplay.

As the sworn enemy of the Galactic Alliance, Emperor Zurg enters the video game’s Toy Box mode complete with his sphere-shooting cannon and speed on wheels to unleash mayhem on Woody’s Western Town.

EA Announces The Sims 3 For Consoles and Handheld This Fall

The Bamboozle Festival 2010 is a rock event held in three locations: May 1-2 at the East Rutherford, N.J. Meadowlands Sports Complex; March 27-28 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.; and May 15 at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, Ill.

Tickets cost $57 for a single day, $104 for a two-day pass and $116 for a three-day pass. A three-day VIP pass is for $300, which will get you access to a festival kickoff party, the Bamboozle VIP lounge, a complimentary ticket to their Hoodwink event and some other cool perks. Syfy gets the Smackdown in October!!

World Wrestling Entertainment and Syfy announced today a multi-year agreement that brings Friday Night SmackDown to the “Imagine Greater” network beginning in October 2010. Friday Night SmackDown will premiere on its new home October 1st at 8:00 PM ET. The program, which debuted more than 10 years ago, is one of the longest-running, weekly episodic shows on television.

Syfy’s original Friday night drama series will move to Tuesday night, where hit series such as Warehouse 13 and Eureka have yielded unprecedented ratings success. WWE NXT will leave Syfy in October as Friday Night SmackDown joins the schedule.

The two hour television program will be presented weekly on Syfy and features a star-studded cast of WWE Superstars and Divas including Undertaker, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix and Layla.

The demo will give players a taste of the University District in the all-new skater’s paradise of Port Carverton. Players will shred through a series of single and multiplayer challenges including Domination, Own the Lot, and the bone-crushing Hall of Meat.

In addition to the modes and challenges, players can learn the ropes or perfect their skills in the all-new Skate.School featuring Coach Frank. Gamers can also sample the all-new object dropper by using 24 different items to tweak and alter the University District to create a personalized demo experience. Once players have that perfect trick nailed, they can capture the moment with the in-game Replay Editor and upload footage of themselves with the Skate series’ immensely popular Skate.Reel.

SKATE 3 is the definitive co-op skateboarding experience as players build the ultimate team to take on unique team challenges, compete against rival crews online and shred the streets. In the end, SKATE 3 takes skateboarding to a new level with more tricks, improved off board actions, and gnarly Hall of Meat carnage.

The Toshiba Satellite T135 is the perfect laptop for a life on the go! With its 13.3-inch screen, this is Toshiba's thinnest and lightest Satellite model yet. It weights 3.88 pounds and is 12.7 x 8.78 x 0.87-1.35-inches. It offers the performance, flexibility and functionality you expect in a standard-sized laptop in a super small package. Featuring a power-efficient Intel ultra-low voltage processor and Windows 7, the T135 powers up quickly from standby mode and provides energy saving enhancements that deliver up to 9 hours of battery life.

The Toshiba Satellite T135 arrived with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, a dual-core Intel Pentium SU4100, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB of storage (5400RPM), Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M integrated graphics, and a 13.3-inch HD Trubrite LED backlit display. This build is the dual-core SKU and sells for $699. As far as external features, the T135 has VGA, HMDI, 3 USB slots, a card reader, mic/headphone jacks, webcam, and ethernet. Communications are handled by wireless b/g/n. This SKU does not have Bluetooth while the more expensive T135 builds do. The inner and outer surface is covered by a checkerboard ‘Fusion Finish’ in red, white or black. My unit was red.

It features a full-sized keyboard and full-sized touchpad with multi-touch capabilities, enabling you to browse and control what's happening on-screen with gesture commands--including two-finger pinch, swipe, rotate and scroll. Sadly the touchpad isn't always very responsive. The flat keyboard performs very well and is comfortable to use. The silver button-bar below the touchpad is a continuous plastic piece that will toggle on either side for right or left clicks. I usually perfer separate toggle buttons but these toggle buttons work perfect so it wasn't a problem.

Except the power button and the standard keyboard, no standard buttons are available, so the adjustments of the control panel like screen brightness is handled with the combinations of the function-key. One that I was shocked to find was the volume control located in the 3 and 4 number keys.

The digital web camera built into the LCD lets you quickly snap photos and participate in live video chats. The 1.3 megapixel digital web camera does more than just video chats. It includes Toshiba Face Recognition capabilities, just show your face to the webcam, the ultimate hands-free and hassle-free way to log onto your laptop. And if you're using one laptop for several users, Toshiba Face Recognition lets you switch profiles with one simple look. This is such a cool feature!

The speakers are stereo and located on the base beneath the keyboard. This would have to be my main problem with the T135, the volume sounded very low even on maximum. I feel the speakers could of had a different location to maximize on sound.

The T135 doesn't have a CD/DVD drive so you will have to purchase an external.

The Satellite T135 is affordable, thin, lightweight and the battery life is just what's needed when you are on the go. I would recommend this laptop for travelers and students.

Now it's easy to achieve their gorgeous looks with Neutrogena. Below you will find a breakdown on how to achieve both of these flawless looks on your own.

Makeup Artist Dawn Broussard collaborated with Neutrogena brand ambassador Emma Roberts to create the starlet’s look for the Hollywood premiere of “Valentine’s Day.” Now, she shares how you can achieve this gorgeous look on your own:

Face:

To keep her skin looking beautiful on and off the red carpet, Emma regularly cleanses with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser.

For this premiere, I wanted to build a naturally flawless face while treating blemishes and preventing future breakouts. I used Neutrogena SkinClearing Liquid Make-up and SkinClearing Mineral Powder in Classic Ivory for a beautifully even finish. Since her hair was swept away from her face, I gave Emma an airy glow with a Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush in Illuminator.

Eyes:

Although Emma’s dress was light in color, it was adorned with shimmery sequins in brighter hues. To complement her fun and flirty look, I wanted to accentuate her eyes with spicy-warm brown shades since they are not as harsh as black. Using Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Duo in Crème Caramel for the eye shadow base, I applied Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Duo in Fairy Dusty in the creases of her eyes for a hint of drama. I framed her lash lines with Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Spiced Chocolate so her eyes would “pop” against her subtle lip color. I finished the look off with a few coats of Healthy Volume Black Brown Mascara.

Lips:

To balance out her smokey eye make-up, I layered Neutrogena MoistureShine LipSheers in Sparkling Nude underneath a top coat of Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss in Whisper.

Hair Care:

I armed Emma with a bottle of Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo for when she heads home as it instantly removes over 90% of styling product build-up other shampoos and conditioners leave behind. Considering Emma’s hair had a lot of styling products in it, the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is a great choice for removing dulling residue from overworked hair post-event.

For a sheer touch of illuminating color, sweep NEUTROGENA Healthy Skin Custom Glow™ Blush and Bronzer in Posie Glow on the apples of the cheeks.

Eyes:

Avoiding black to create a soft, sophisticated look, NEUTROGENA Nourishing Eye Quad in Copper Glow was brushed across Jennifer’s lids to make her hazel/green eyes pop. To frame her upper lash lines, NEUTROGENA Nourishing Eye Quad Garden Party was applied for a shimmery copper effect. WWE Superstar Triple H celebrated Mattel’s first line of WWE action figures at a special event at New York Toy Fair today. President of Mattel Brands Neil Friedman and WWE COO Donna Goldsmith were also on hand to talk about the partnership between the two entertainment companies.

President of Mattel Brands Neil Friedman and WWE COO Donna Goldsmith spoke about the innovation behind the new FlexForce toys for kids and the renowned design behind the most detailed line of WWE figures ever assembled for the collector community. WWE Superstar and 13-time World Champion Triple H, best known for his “Pedigree” finishing move, showcased his FlexForce action figure.

Mattel and WWE joined forces to launch the most comprehensive portfolio of WWE action figures and accessories, which hit shelves nationwide in January 2010. The line includes the FlexForce action figures for young fans and the Elite and Entrance Great figures for the avid collectors. WWE and Kmart launches the “Royal Riches” promotion!

World Wrestling Entertainment and Kmart have announced that they are collaborating again! This time on an exclusive, multiplatform marketing promotion called “Royal Riches”. “Royal Riches” supports WWE’s first pay-per-view event of 2010, Royal Rumble. Royal Rumble is taking place Sunday, Jan. 31 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga., marking the kick off to the “Road to WrestleMania® XXVI.”

From Jan. 10 through Jan. 31, all Kmart stores will feature product boutiques showcasing WWE licensed merchandise including men’s and boys’ apparel, footwear, bedding, DVDs, and video games. Additionally, Kmart will debut Mattel’s new line of WWE action figures and accessories. Consumers who purchase $35 or more of WWE merchandise at Kmart will receive $10 off their Royal Rumble pay-per-view order. Consumers also have the opportunity to win other promotional offers through the duration of the program including further discounts on WWE merchandise, and an opportunity to win a trip for two to WrestleMania XXVI on March 28 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

Kmart will feature select WWE merchandise available for purchase online at www.kmart.com/wwe, as well as a dedicated WWE section in its weekly circular. About the movie:

In the "Squeakquel," pop sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore end up in the care of Dave Seville's twenty-something nephew Toby (Zachary Levi). Monk's Final Episode Tomorrow Night on USA!

One of the best shows unfortunately comes to a close. After eight seasons, the last episode of the comedy/drama Monk will air at 9 pm on Friday on USA.

The final episode titled "Mr. Monk and the End, Part 2," will finally reveal the truth about Trudy Monk's death. Monk pursues the killer of his wife Trudy. Virginia Madsen, Melora Hardin, and Casper Van Dien guest star in the episode.
