T.V Review: Olivia comes to Nickelodeon!

Olivia is wildly known for being a little pig with a big imagination in her books. Come January 26 this little pig will be going big places. Olivia will become a half-hour series on Nickelodeon. Preschoolers will get the chance to visually experience all of Olivia's adventures whether real or fantasy.

The premiere episode is broke into two storylines.

First in "Olivia Measures Up", Olivia is finally tall enough to ride the big rides but her younger brother Ian isn't. After Olivia teases her younger brother Ian for being too short, Father mentions that some day Ian may be the taller sibling. Olivia is determined to try and stop that from happening.

Then in "Olivia Plays Hotel", school is let out early due to snow so Julian and Francine come over to Olivia’s house. Olivia has just the game they should play- Hotel! She transforms her house into a make-believe hotel, but then some strange things start to happen. Will everyone enjoy their stay at Hotel Olivia?

I must say I have always loved Olivia and always will. Her books were so adorable and her show is equally as adorable. She is just like any 6 year old girl today, always looking for something fun to do. My favorite thing is the Olivia shows young children the importance of a good imagination. Plus she gives them great tips during her "Rules of Life". With great animation and cute stories, Olivia is ready to be your child's new best friend.

T.V Revew: Burn Notice returns with a mid-season premiere!

USA Network's Burn Notice returns on January 22 with the first of seven new episodes. The hit show stars Jeffrey Donovan, Bruce Campbell, Gabrielle Anwar and Sharon Gless. The season starts off where it left off- with a bang!

The premiere episode titled "Do No Harm" begins with Michael Weston (Jeffrey Donovan) being nearly killed and his brother is in jail. Things get worst when a man walks in front of a bus to commit suicide. He soon finds out that this man is desperate to recover money from a medical scam artist. Now Michael has a new client and a new case to solve. With the near-death experience and everything that is on his mind, will the added pressure of this case prove to be too much?

"Do No Harm" would have to be one of the best episodes of Burn Notice so far. It was well-written, intense and fast-paced. The bright colors and beautiful beaches makes Miami the perfect backdrop for the show. With what is shown in this episode, Season 2 should be more entertaining and more action-packed as Season 1!

To find out how everything turns out, you have to tune in to the premiere Thursday, January 22nd at 10pm on the USA Network.

Album Review: Lady Gaga "The Fame"!

“Gaga Gaga in the room” can be heard on “Starstruck”, one of the many tracks off of Lady Gaga’s debut album “The Fame”. She has always made her presence known and was always an entertainer. As a little girl, she would sing along on her mini plastic tape recorder to Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper hits. At age 4, she learned how to play piano by ear. By age 13, she had written her first piano ballad. She was signed by her 20th birthday and have written songs for artists such as the Pussycat Dolls. So with her writing songs for other artists, it is no surprise that she wrote all the songs on “The Fame”.

“The Fame” has a mixture of different genres. When Lady Gaga ,22, was asked to describe her album she said “ I marry a lot of different genres. It’s a bit retro, a bit glamorous, and you can dance to it. It’s very futuristic, very fresh, and very dramatic, sort of like theatrical pop”. Working mainly with producers Redone and Martin Kierszenbaum, “The Fame” is a well constructed dance album that is sure to get any party started.

Just look at the lead single, “Just Dance”, produced by Akon and Redone and featuring Akon and Colby O’ Donis. It has lyrics that are easy to get stuck in your head and a beat that you can’t help but “Just Dance” to.

Other up tempo tracks on the album leave the same effect. “Money Honey” shows her love of money and “Boys, Boys, Boys” shows her love of boys! She is very risqué on “ Love Game” and title track “The Fame” really shines. The song “ The Fame” was also used as the theme song on the Australian version of “Make me a Supermodel”.

“Paper Gangsta” and “Starstuck” gives the album it’s hip hop edge. “Starstruck” features Space Cowboy and “Elevator” rapper Flo Rida. Singles “Poker Face” and “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” features sharp beats and very interesting lyrics.

The mid tempo songs are “I Like it Rough” and “Paparazzi”. “Paparazzi” has lyrics like “ follow you until you love me” and “I won’t stop until that boy is mine”. “Paparazzi” shows persistence aka stalker. The two slow songs “Eh, Eh (Nothing else to say)" and “Brown Eyes” honestly should have been left off of the album and have been bonus tracks.

All and all, “The Fame” is a solid album, The mid and up tempo tracks are hits and sadly the slow songs are a miss. The album is perfect for clubs and a good workout. Lady Gaga can be compared to the likes of Fergie, Gwen Stefani and Katy Perry. By this album it is totally understandable why everyone is going Gaga over Lady Gaga!
